The router keeps working long after it stops being safe
The network section of the Study & workshop shelf. A router does not wear out — it stops receiving security updates while continuing to light up exactly as before. Since April 2024 the maker has to publish how long that support lasts, and may not shorten it afterwards. That published date, not the Wi-Fi generation, is the number that decides what the router costs per year.
